“And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.” (Ether 12:27)

This scripture has been one of my staples, as I have struggled with extreme social anxiety throughout my life. As I continually put my faith and trust in the Lord, the spirit prompts me to do things I wouldn’t otherwise do. And as I act upon those promptings…I am always strengthened in ways that help me to overcome my daily anxieties. Through this blessing and promise, I have been able to do things as seemingly simple as paying a cashier for groceries, attending a party and reaching out to help someone in need…as well as finding the strength to work through harder things like accepting a church calling, going to college and navigating employment.

I feel incredibly blessed to know of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and to know that if I continually have faith and follow the promptings of the spirit, I can overcome my weaknesses.
